Felipe Gaitan

Felipe Gaitan is an Environmental Strategist and is our facilitator for setting up and managing cross collaboration, workshops and coaching programmes.

With an ecology degree from the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Bogotá, Colombia, Project Management degree from the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada and a Masters in Environmental Strategy from the University of Surrey in the UK, Felipe brings a multidisciplinary and socially diverse understanding of sustainability and its applications in a global spectrum.

Felipe has been responsible for:

  • the implementation of Social Sustainability programmes for the Food and Agriculture Organisation in marginal areas of Bogotá;
  • designed a sustainable reforestation project in collaboration with the Colombian Air Force, the Royal Dutch Embassy and the private sector;
  • implemented state of the art sustainable farming techniques that increased yield whilst achieving biodiversity goals; and
  • created and delivered a modern environmental education programme which brought young students to a better understanding of today’s environmental issues and potential courses of action.

As As an active Practitioner member of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA), Felipe consistently creates spaces for the networking and development of members in the Sussex and Surrey area.

Whether applying creative and modern sustainability solutions to everyday problems or participating in outdoor sports such as sailing or mountain biking, his passion for nature is evident in all aspects of his life. His commitment to change and constant improvement are amongst his most valued aspects.
